A situation I find myself at work very often is the need of a small tool that can run in many client machines. But I think Rust changes a bit this: It has a great package manager, it has a lot of great libs, it’s not that much more difficult to write, and it has great targets. This is kinda understandable since it’s a system programming language, and for those, you usually don’t make small programs. There’s also a shit ton of crates to choose for a particular problem, and it can be daunting to choose. However, there’s less so on libraries, and there’s not many complete examples of practical problems. While starting with Rust is a bit tough, there’s a really wonderful community, the Rust book is great and there’s lots of blogs on concepts like borrow checker. Debugging kernel dumps is super time consuming, especially if they involve stack corruption. Since I work constantly with C, usually in environments where C++ (or at least, not a modern flavour) is not available, like Windows drivers, this sounds super attractive. I have recently started with Rust, a wonderful language which puts safety. Take a look at her painting Chev 6, an image of a rust covered old vehicle.Trying to use Rust to make a very small program that reads a bunch of scanned pages from a book, divides them, and finally create a PDF with the result. Take a look at some of Paul Buford’s paintings in his spotlight at Artpromotivate. He paints watercolor images of antique and weathered cars, trucks, motorcycles and more. His paintings are incredibly realistic and lifelike, and the rust on the vehicles is very prominent.Rusty 50's Bel Air - teal rusty chevy bel air ©Australian artist paints weathered images and rustic scenes. Paint the Effect of Weathering and Rust Some artists have become real pros at achieving a rustic effect very easily, simply by using watercolor or acrylic. If you create rust a different way, care to share it with us?. There are obviously several ways of doing this. Dry this.- Create yet another layer with a lighter color (orange).- Use the copper acrylic paint for a final thin layer. As you can see, she achieves a good appearance of rust using this method. Dab this with a paper towel or cloth to remove excess paint.
